I think I'm a bit pathetic.

I realized something yesterday. Actually, I realized two things. I'll tell you both of them.
First, I realized that I do laundry when I'm bored. What!?!? Who does that? But seriously, there is quite a load of satisfaction when all those lights are washed, dried (on the line lately, although that may change with the weather), folded, and put away. It consumes time (a lot of which I have on my hands, being semi-unemployed), accomplishes a task, and is useful. But who does it when they're bored?? Sheesh. Pathetic.
Second, I realized that I'm a snob. At the urging of my sister, I have been reading (ever so slowly) the first book in the Twilight series. But I only read it at home where no one sees me reading except Chris and he doesn't count. I don't want people to know I'm reading it. But I need to get over that so I'm telling the world through my (barely read by anyone other than said-sister) blog. Pathetic.
Now, I vehemently want to NOT like the books. They're like an over-acted teen-drama TV series that sucks you in and next thing you know you've wasted six good hours watching stupid television online! So far, I'm not not-liking them (not that I'm really like-liking them either) so I will keep reading. But I won't see the movies. I won't.

In light of these revelations, I have been active and useful and productive (and have done NO laundry, even though the towels are begging to be freshened!) on this rather cloudy Saturday. My thighs are screaming bloody murder at Chris (who underestimated a trail on our mountain bike ride this morning) but Sammi is happy from his walk and the dishes are clean and drying on the counter.
Now time for some light reading.

i think the movie damages your experience of the book, actually. and i don't think you'd like it anyway. so there you go.
