Forced Laziness

I have a 'To Do' list a mile long and was in the middle of getting things done when a certain grey cat decided he wanted to use my lap as a bed. In an effort to practice patience, I let him... and now I'm stuck at the hubs' desk. My feet are freezing but my lap is warm and I just can't bear to disturb this cuteness. What better opportunity to clear out my Google Reader!

Here's a cute little list of some of my favorite recent blog posts from around the web:

Oh sweet goodness.

I think I'm drooling on myself. You think I'm being figurative but I'm not. My mouth is literally watering right now in an insane sort of way.

My New Theme Song

I don't know who this guy is but he knows my favorite meal: nuggets, waffles fries (with ranch!), and a large sweet tea. Doesn't get much better than that. Hhmmm. Now I'm craving some Chick-Fil-A...

Many thanks to Kate for sending me the link! Now I have the song stuck in my head!

This Year's Pumpkin Bites

Last year I carted these cute little yummies with me to every Fall function and they were a hit! This year, I'm determined to make these classy little Pumpkin Cream Cheese Truffles. Even if you don't end up liking the taste, they sure look pretty on a plate!
Anyone want to join me in the kitchen?
Find the recipe here.

Sweet Paul's Fall

I mentioned this digital magazine in a previous post but did not do it justice at all.  My apologies!
If you haven't already, you really should carve out some time to sit down and flip through it - you won't be disappointed.
From gorgeous Autumn and Halloween decor inspiration to mouth-watering recipes, it's absolutely beautiful from cover to cover.
Sweet Paul also has a blog if you'd like to keep up with the latest happenings and be notified when the Holiday Issue comes out in November.
Sneak Peek:

Doesn't this drink look delicious?

I just want to have a party in the woods...

Salted Caramel and Chocolate Cake? Yes, please!

Don't Know No-Bakes?

Those of you who don't know No-Bake Cookies are missing out. And so I will share the quick and easy, no-bake, chocolate oatmeal cookie recipe right here, right now.
I'd share the cookies, too, but I'm a little selfish even though I made a second batch today. Second batch within a week. Ok, I admit. Second batch within three days... I pretty much eat them for breakfast, snacks, and dessert. Yes, they're that addicting.

No-Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

In a large pan, combine:
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp salt

Bring to a boil and let boil together for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and immediately stir in:
3 cups oatmeal (I prefer generic-brand quick oats)
1 1/2 tsps vanilla

Stir together until oatmeal is well coated. Let sit for a few minutes to thicken.
Drop by spoonfuls on wax paper to cool.
Store in layers separated by wax paper in the fridge.
Enjoy!!

Yes, they look like little brown blobs but oh, they're such yummy little brown blobs. I took the container out of the fridge to take this picture and could barely resist eating one, even with dinner in the oven.

Dear Hubs,

Thank you for going along with all my crazy shenanigans. Even when it means dressing up as farm animals and parading around in public. You're the best backside a cow could ask for.
You rock my cloven-hooves off -
xoxo,
me.

Quick background on these photos: We were participating in a nation-wide event known as Cow Appreciation Day. It's pretty simple: Dress up like a cow, get free food.
I heart Chick-Fil-A.
Many thanks to my dear friend, Autumn, for convincing me to try it in the first place. The sweet tea lured me in, the waffle fries and nuggets kept me coming back.

At the event - a lovely lady took these and posted them to the Oxnard Chick-Fil-A group on Facebook for us:

Aw, look at our pathetic little tail!

Hubs was super helpful stapling on the cow spots:
