As I was about to call my mom last night, the hubs picked up her school picture from my dresser and said,
"Here, I'll hold this in front of your face while you talk. Then it'll be like video chat!"
It's not quite the same but he gets an "A" for effort.

Things My Husband Says
To the Dog:
"Too bad you don't have a USB port, Sammi. Then we could know what you're thinking."
Wow.

Hubs'NEm's Quote of the Day
While washing dishes a few days ago, I accidentally got a smaller glass stuck inside a slightly larger glass. I knew that heat or cold would make them expand or contract and could potentially solve my problem but I can never remember which does what and have a fear of broken glass... So I left them on the counter for the hubs to find and fix... eventually.
Tonight, the hubs simply placed the large glass in a pot of hot water and filled the smaller glass with ice.
Me: Wow. Neat. Did you google that?
Hubs: No. It's just physics.
Yeah, DUH.
"It's just physics."

Hubs'NEm's Quote of the Day
People watching while waiting in line for gas at Costco* -
Me: That guy in the silver Toyota, looking all sporty in his matching workout outfit. Is that a sweat band tied around his head?
Hubs: Looks like it.
Me: People wear the most interesting things when they work out.
Hubs: Maybe that's what he does. To keep staying old.
Me: Staying old???
Hubs: Yeah. Instead of dying.
Take it from the hubs: To keep staying old and not die, you should probably workout. Sweatband is optional.
* Just to clarify: We were waiting in line for gas for my car, as opposed to waiting in line for a hot dog or slice of pizza. That's what I call, "The line for the other kind of gas."

Hubs'NEm's Quote of the Day
In a restaurant a while ago -
Hubs: Wow, that's a really small baby. With lots of hair.
Me: Mm-hmmm.
Hubs: Do they come with hair?
It was all I could do not to respond, "Yes, but the batteries aren't included."
Love that man! He certainly makes me laugh.

" "
To live content with small means;
to seek elegance rather than luxury,
and refinement rather than fashion;
to be worthy, not respectable; and
wealthy, not rich; to study hard, think
quietly, talk gently, act frankly...to
listen to stars and buds, to babes and
sages, with open heart; await occasions,
hurry never...this is my symphony.

We have had our summer evenings,

Hubs'NEm's Quote of the Day
Hubs: I caught Sammi sleeping on the chair in the guest room twice yesterday.
Me: Yeah, he likes it up there. Softer than the rug.
Hubs: Still, not a good idea to indulge him. It's like a gateway piece of furniture. Can't have him hopping up on the bed again.
Me: Kind of like marijuana being the gateway drug to harder drugs, like cocaine?
Hubs: Yep. Sammi's gonna end up a stoner if we're not careful.

Hubs'NEm's Quote of the Day **
Hubs (in regards to the churro at 10:30am): Second Breakfast!!
Me: Oh my gosh, we're like HOBBITSES!
Hubs: Yes! Except you're tall and skinny. More like an elf.
Me: Yes, with pointy ears.
** A new feature of blog in which I give you random quotes from our silly lives with very little point of reference. Fan.Tastic.
