Cute little pineberries.

Have you heard of pineberries? I like my strawberries to taste like strawberries so the idea weirds me out a little. I'm intrigued...
But they sure are cute!

Link Love

To keep you busy on a rainy Sunday in between church and family gatherings:

Clever little map of the USA according to Californians. Spotted on Happiness Is....

I really really really need a pair of these. I tell myself this every Spring. Size 9.5 in Tomato, please.

Cute little backpacks. Stripes! Spotted on A Cup of Jo.

Sleeping in the air? Not sure how I'd feel suspended over my living room but I'll give it a try.

You know how I love anything mini. Can't resist these cakes.

Cheerful yellow for a rainy Sunday.

How cute would these plaid benches be in my living room?

Lazy Saturday

Apparently, when you order almost 400 photo prints, your local one-hour Costco photo center reserves the right to take several hours to process your order. Phooey. Guess I'll be picking up my prints tomorrow afternoon.
We've had a lazy Saturday around here - the hubs and I have both been working overtime for the last few weeks and needed to take things slow. Other than hitting my head on a bicycle (hanging from the garage ceiling) and getting my thumb caught in the dryer door, it's been a good day. Full of sunshine, sweet tea, and laundry on the line. I love days like these.

The roses are in their first bloom of the season and it's always the best bloom of the year. My yellow roses are huge and they smell amazing! There are at least 12 buds on each rose bush.

I also have little flowers on my blackberry bush! Does this mean we'll get berries this year...?

This is Sammi's favorite spot to sit while I'm in the yard - middle of the sidewalk that connects the house to the garage. If he gets too warm, he moves to the shade but he'll lay here for quite a while!

Call me crazy but I actually like doing laundry - especially when I can hang it on the line to dry. There's something relaxing about the process. Or maybe I just enjoy being out in the yard on a sunny day, regardless of the chore...? (It helps to have a little vintage clothespin holder, complete with vintage clothespins - a gift from a friend. Isn't it cute?)

Yep, it's definitely Spring around here! What's on tap for your weekend?

Cheerful Favorites

This is probably one of my all-time favorite blog posts over on Mixed Plate. I'm not the only one who loves stripes!
And who can resist a darling red striped bathing suit?
This yellow is pretty awesome, too. I could use more cheer in my life these days!
Love the chevron stripes in this blog header (the blog is great, too!).
Now I want to put up twinkly lights all over my house.
These customize-able mini cities are adorbs.
I really want to try this. Maybe in my alleyway?
Super amazing gorgeous stripes.
I really love the color on this ceiling.
Posts like this make me want to get out my bike and do a photo shoot. Or just go for a nice ride around the block. Maybe I'll do that this weekend.

What are your plans for the weekend? It's never too soon to start thinking about it! Let's hope for sunshine!

Heading Up

When you're having a shitty day (week? month?) it helps to look at pictures of cheerful things. Like Disneyland and baby goats and ferris wheels.
Hope your day starts looking up from here!

The hubs is in my word verifcation.

Is it coincidence? I like to think so. Otherwise, it just seems creepy.

I wanna be this kid.

I love it.

I have a blog.

And sometimes I update it. Sometimes I don't. Whoops!
It was another crazy week at work and I'm still dealing with carpal tunnel issues, so my computer use at home has been low. Thanks to a new chair that raises high enough to keep my elbows at a 90degree angle, and a new keyboard that lets me keep my mouse closer, the wrist and shoulder issues seem to be getting a little better. Yay!
Last weekend I took a break from the computer to enjoy my yard in our gorgeous SoCal weather - after rain and sunshine, the weeds sprout quicker than I can pull them! I wore out the hubs on Sunday cleaning windows - here he is, taking a break with Sammi-dog. He thinks he's a lap dog... but he's not.

I have a big Valentine round-up coming soon for all you last-minute crafters, so stay tuned!
Have a happy Friday!

I'm no fashionista.

You won't usually find clothing related posts around here (unless it's to showcase some cute shoes like these... or these... or these...) but I love everything about this outfit.
What do you think, could I pull it off?

The Resolutionator

In case you haven't already... or you just need some help.
The Resolution Generator.

I chose three so far:

By the way, Monina is from the Philippines where I used to live. You should check out her blog post about her recent visit home. Her photos are gorgeous and it makes me want to go back and visit.
Her post is here.

I forgot to mention...

... that while my mom and sister and I were at Unique LA a few weeks ago, we took this picture. That Yeti creeping over my shoulder is my new BFF.  He makes the best snow cones.

Marching Bands aren't all that un-cool.

And I'm not just saying that because the hubs was in marching band. These guys are pretty awesome, too!

Forced Laziness

I have a 'To Do' list a mile long and was in the middle of getting things done when a certain grey cat decided he wanted to use my lap as a bed. In an effort to practice patience, I let him... and now I'm stuck at the hubs' desk. My feet are freezing but my lap is warm and I just can't bear to disturb this cuteness. What better opportunity to clear out my Google Reader!

Here's a cute little list of some of my favorite recent blog posts from around the web:

Quite Unacceptable.

Really, weather? REALLY?

I'm hoping that tomorrow will be like our wedding weather - where it poured rain the day before the party and then miraculously cleared up the day of the party and we all enjoyed our time in the glorious sunshine and our shoulders got sunburned.
I have a feeling that this isn't going to be the case tomorrow. 90% seems pretty solid.

My New Theme Song

I don't know who this guy is but he knows my favorite meal: nuggets, waffles fries (with ranch!), and a large sweet tea. Doesn't get much better than that. Hhmmm. Now I'm craving some Chick-Fil-A...

Many thanks to Kate for sending me the link! Now I have the song stuck in my head!

Not a Packer.

I don't like to pack for trips.
You might think this dislike has deep-seeded roots in my childhood; from those days when we lived out of suitcases, traveling to-and-fro across the nation; un-packing the car at a new destination every evening, re-packing the car every morning, when we knew to bring the sleeping bags first and the pillows last.
But you would be wrong.
I don't like to pack because I can never decide what I am going to want to wear in two days when faced with an empty suitcase today.
The process usually goes something like this:
Look up the weather forecast for my destination and plan for 10 degrees up or down, just in case. Lay out the choices. Put things in a bag. Take things out of the bag. End up just putting it all in the bag, to the tune of "six options for three days with extra socks and undies, just in case."
For example: I'm headed to Disneyland with the family on Tuesday. Weather forecast is low to mid 80s. (Niiiiiice!)
I know I want to wear my favorite navy blue shorts because 1) they're super comfy, 2) they are exactly the right length on me, and 3) they won't be all see-through if I happen to get soaking wet on a water ride. But what to wear as a top? Since it's going to be warm, I might want a tank top. But I've been wearing tanks a lot and my shoulders are already a bit burnt from Friday so maybe a short-sleeved shirt would be better. Should I wear the Mickey tee? It is Disneyland, after all. But my shoes have Mickey on them and I will probably wear my red Jesse cowboy hat (from Toy Story) so I don't want to go overboard on the Disney theme.
Maybe I should just wear my favorite striped tee with the buttons on the sleeves?
Too many choices!!

Seriously, though, how cute are these shoes?
(Yes, the tags are still attached. I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep them or not and they are technically half a size larger than I normally wear because Crocs skip from size 9 to size 10 but after wearing them around today on my hot, slightly swollen feet, they will be perfect. Ta-da!)

What happened to the good 'ole days when people had two outfits: One for "every day" and one for Sundays and weddings? It may be time to purge the wardrobe a little.
Oh, and in case you're wondering, I brought four shirt options. Just in case. My sister might want to borrow one, after all.
Two days. Multiple options. It's just the way I roll.

Love your Library

Did you know that September is Library Card Sign-Up Month? I had no idea there was a month for that but I'm headed to the library tonight to return a few videos and check out their new fiction section. If you have a chance, look up your local library and then stop by to show your support! You might be surprised what you find...
