Buy a bathrobe! If you can find one, that is, because they're all on clearance! A great reason to buy but you may have to activate your stealth hunting mode to find one you like in your size.
We started at Macy's, since we had a gift card, but unless you're XL or 1X, you won't have much luck there. They had some great brands at terrific prices but no dice on the sizing. I don't want to have to wrap the thing around me three times before tying - and I really don't want to be flashing the neighbors when I let the dog in and out.
I was pretty sure I'd find something at Target so while we were picking up exciting things like laundry detergent and windshield wiper fluid, I hopped over to the clearance section. I obviously wasn't all that committed because I almost gave up while waiting for some other ladies to get the heck out of the way (they were taking up all the space! No one else could browse!) but I spied a few and was patient enough to score a fantastic fleecy soft cream colored bathrobe for the bargain price of $12.48. Woohoo!
It's almost exactly what I was looking for, too! I think you'd call it "waffle-print" in the fashion world, which seems a little "old lady" to me but it sure beats the ratty thing I was wrapping up in every day. As nostalgic as it is, the cheap white terrycloth bathrobe with "Bride" sewn on the lapel has got to go - we've had three good years.
And now it can go.
